When repairing a cavity, an inlay can restore your tooth in a more durable manner than a traditional filling, while also mimicking a tooth’s natural shade. An inlay is typically made of ceramic, composite resin, or a combination of both.
With a CAD/CAM inlay, your doctor uses a 3D scanner to aid in designing the restoration. This technology makes it possible for your Doctor to complete your inlay in a single appointment.
During the first step, your doctor will remove the decayed portion of the tooth, leaving an area that will be replaced with the inlay.
Next, the prepared tooth is scanned, and creation of the inlay begins right in your doctor’s office while you wait.
When the inlay is ready, your doctor will make final adjustments and bond it into place. Since it has been expertly crafted using digital fabrication, it will generally last longer than a large filling.
Once completed, your tooth is free of decay and restored to its natural strength and function.

When someone wants to improve their smile with straighter teeth and a more aligned bite, clear aligners can be an excellent treatment option. They can achieve proper alignment while also being minimally visible when being worn.
Clear aligner technology provides treatment via a series of custom fitted, clear plastic alignment trays that are worn over the teeth.
To begin the process, your doctor uses state-of-the-art technology to image your teeth in 3D, which feeds into a computer to aid in designing your aligners.
Specialized computer software then generates a series of progressive trays that slowly move your teeth into the correct position over time.
A new tray is swapped in at regular intervals until the desired alignment is reached.
Once treatment is completed, your teeth will be in improved alignment and your smile improved. However, it is important to note that some alignment issues cannot be corrected with this technology; you should consult with your dentist or orthodontist to ensure that this treatment is appropriate for your situation.

When a tooth has been compromised by decay, your doctor may choose to use a filling or a crown to repair it. There are some differences to consider when evaluating your options.
When repairing a small area of decay, a filling is a great option. A filling can be completed in a single appointment and is less expensive than a crown.
The cavity can be filled with a material called composite, which mimics the tooth’s natural shade and sheen. Once completed, the filling should stop the decay and keep the tooth healthy for a number of years.
Drawbacks of a filling can be a shorter comparative lifespan, and potential long term issues like recurring decay and cracking.
Placing a crown is best when a tooth has been weakened by extensive decay, injury, or deterioration of a large filling. A crown procedure involves reducing the surface area of the whole tooth to remove the decay, and then covering it entirely with a restoration made of ceramic or composite.
Crowns are more durable and last longer than a filling, and protect teeth from fracturing over time. While requiring a more involved procedure, a crown can also be completed in a single appointment when using digital scanning and onsite fabrication.
In the right circumstances, both a filling and a crown are excellent solutions for repairing decayed or damaged teeth. It is important that you consult with your doctor so that the right choice can be made based upon your unique needs.

A bridge is used to replace a missing tooth. It uses teeth on either side of the missing tooth for support. It typically requires multiple appointments to complete the process of getting a bridge.
With a CAD/CAM bridge, your Doctor uses state-of-the-art technology to image your teeth in 3-D and aid in designing the restoration. It also makes it possible for you to complete your bridge in a single appointment.
To begin, the teeth on either side of the missing tooth are prepared. They will become the support structure for your new tooth.
Next, the prepared teeth are scanned, and creation of the bridge begins. It is then fabricated right in your doctor’s office while you wait.
When the bridge is ready, your doctor will make final adjustments and cement it into place.
Once completed, the area is restored to optimal function and appearance.

An onlay is used to rebuild a tooth that has damage to one or more cusp. This treatment helps to restore optimal shape and function while saving as much of the natural tooth as possible. Also, it will generally last longer than a large filling.
With a CAD/CAM onlay, a computer takes an image of your tooth in 3-D, which helps in designing the restoration. This technology makes it possible for your doctor to complete your onlay in a single appointment.
First, your tooth is prepared for the onlay.
Next, the tooth is scanned, and the onlay is created in your doctor’s office while you wait.
Your doctor will make final adjustments and bond the onlay into place.
Your tooth is restored to optimal shape and function, and much of the natural tooth structure has been saved.

An implant supported bridge can be used to replace multiple missing teeth and restore the esthetics and function of your mouth. It is a single restoration that uses dental implants neighboring the space for support. It typically requires multiple appointments to complete this process.
Using dental implants to support your bridge provides a stable permanent solution to replace the missing teeth by mimicking their root structure. It also allows you to replace multiple missing teeth when it may not be feasible to place multiple implants that would allow for individual restorations.
The process begins with your doctor using a state-of-the-art scanner to image your mouth in 3D, which will be used to plan out your implant placement and design a temporary bridge for you.
Next, the area is prepared for placing the dental implants.
The implant(s) are then placed into the bone, along with special healing caps. A temporary restoration can be placed over the area while you heal- your doctor will review with you the best options for your situation.
At subsequent visits your doctor will monitor the healing process, letting you know when the area is ready to proceed. Once healed, the healing caps are removed and scanning posts are placed in the implants.
Next, another scan is performed of the healed area to design the abutments for your bridge- which will serve as the base to support it.
Once your abutments are ready, they are placed into the implants and another scan is done for the purpose of designing your final bridge.
When the bridge is finished, your doctor will make final adjustments and secure it into place. With your bridge placement complete, your teeth are restored to optimal shape and function in a way that continues to stabilize, protect, and preserve the surrounding teeth and tissue.
